Chandlery for General Products

Our  Chandlery is an Aladdin’s cave of boating ephemera, from chrome and brass fittings to obscure spares, toilet chemicals to boat polish, BW keys to boat poles, shackles to fenders, engine filters to control cables, and most of the rest! Most commonly used imperial gas fittings and copper pipe from  3/16 to 1/2” are held in stock.

Unusual gifts, hot and cold  drinks, snacks and ice-creams are here to tempt you if your boat is fully equipped, or you are just out for a walk. In the summer we are open 7 days a week from 9-5, in the winter the hours are a bit less.

Paint

Craftmaster.  Originally developed by the renown boat painter Phil Speight, this top quality paint is our best selling range. We hold a large stock of all the standard Coach Enamel colours together with their relevant undercoats and primer as well as some signwriting and specialist paints, and Carnuba wax polish. All products from the extensive Craftmaster range are available through us, including any BS or RAL colour. We use Craftmaster paints for all our paint jobs unless you request a different brand.

International. known and respected throughout the boating community, International paints have a reputation based on many decades of production. We stock a good selection of their range, including most Toplac colours, varnishes, deck paint and Intertuf bitumastic. All other International products are available through us at short notice.

Rylard. Good quality paints specifically formulated for boats, the Rylard range offer the most user friendly paint at a great price. Again, we hold a good stock of most of the enamels, primers and undercoats. Premium Protection bitumastic is normally used by us for hull blacking as it has a relatively hard and glossy finish.

Other.  In addition to the major brands above, we stock a range of speciality finishes, including Burgess Woodsealer and Topgloss, Seajet antifouling, Jotun 80 2 part epoxy blacking, Deks Olje oil/varnish, and ancillary products such as thinners, paint stripper, brushes, 3M abrasives etc.

Electrical

Leisure and engine batteries, terminals, wiring, switches, chargers, inverters, splitters, horns, hardware, fuses, lighting- and the right advice to back it all up. If you need any help with an electrical problem, we can usually provide the right person.

Gas Bottles

We hold a large stock of Calor gas bottles, (sorry no BBQ gas) and usually can assist in carrying bottles to your car or boat. Boats should pull onto the fuel barge for service. Please note we cannot swap bottles from different manufacturers.

Various gas regulators, fittings, spanners and pipe are stocked in our chandlery.

Coal, Kindling and Heat Logs

We always  have stocks of Newburn smokeless coal  (which we have found the best fuel for boat stoves) in 20kg sealed bags, and usually have top quality kiln dried split softwood kindling in bags. Heatlogs have proved popular this winter and are clean and easy to handle. Pop into the shop for your supplies, we will even carry the coal sacks and put them in your car or on your boat, not a service you will get from most other places!

Pumps and Plumbing

We have a large range of plastic and rubber hose all at very competitive prices, push fit pipe fittings, skin fittings, Jabsco and Shurflo water pumps, a good selection of bilge pumps, and many other plumbing bits and pieces.

Ropes/Safety

We hold a large stock of rope, from 2mm cord up to 24mm three strand in a variety of types. On reels and sold by the metre we have polyester braid and three strand in various colours, we also have Hempex, a traditional looking synthetic rope in different sizes. We have a selection of pre-spliced mooring ropes in 10 and 12m lengths, and offer a splicing service for all three stand rope, including splicing to anchor chain.

In addition we have pre-spliced fender ropes in different colours, stainless steel and galvanized rigging wire, a selection of chain, whipping cord, fids and other ancillaries.

Safety equipment includes boarding ladders, life rings, anchors and chain, mooring chains, and life jackets for adults, children and dogs.

Red Diesel

Red diesel, more correctly called gas oil is always available during usual opening hours. Boats may pull onto the fuel barge for deliveries straight into their tanks. In strict accordance with regulations boat owners may self declare the percentage used for domestic purposes up to 100%. There is no restriction on the quantity. We maintain a computer programme for those who wish to declare a proportion for propulsion and pay the extra tax.

We can supply up to 100 litres into cans in any one transaction without asking for any details of use.

With an average of two deliveries a month, we have a quick turnover and our diesel is always fresh.

Pump Out

Please moor on the fuel barge for pump-outs, and ask in the Chandlery for service, pump-outs are NOT DIY and are available during normal working hours. There is a chemical toilet disposal point available for a small charge. We stock a good selection of chemicals and cleaners including organic in our Chandlery.
